Chinese Navy intends to have 5 Aircraft Carriers 

Currently two aircraft carriers have been constructed. These aren't much advanced compared to other global aircraft carrier designs but the third one and beyond that would surely be good.

China is facing a crunch in Carrier Borne fighters as their current J-16 flying shark lacks the capability to carry heavy loads on long range missions. And the intended Naval versions of J-20 and J-31 would take 7 to 10 more years to be fruitfully capable.

Out of 5 two would be dedicated in South China sea itself while an entire carrier battle group would be developed for Indian Ocean. The Chinese Navy Indian Ocean carrier battle group would consist of its nuclear-powered flat top carrier along with a number of destroyers and submarines.
